Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). Your crew during this flight:

You will be part of the Flight Simulator team under the Flight Science department and you will work directly with our Flight Science Engineers as well as our pilots. This role focuses heavily on the software engineering aspect of the simulator.

Your mission during this flight: 

As our Flight Simulator Software Engineer, you develop and conduct tests in the Pilot in the Loop Simulator that support the development and certification process of our aircraft.

• You develop tests to validate simulator requirements 
• You ensure that tests are traceable and validated
• You develop and automate test programs
• You are responsible for software updates and changes in the system
• You identify and document test results and issues, including troubleshooting
• You ensure all tests can be performed efficiently
• You control the Pilot in the Loop Simulator configuration 

Check in your professional skills:

• You have software development knowledge (C/C++, Matlab and Simulink, python, software revision control)
• You have 3+ years of professional experience with flight simulator software development
• You have a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Software Engineering
• You have proven experience in developing and executing tests in the past
• You have experience with data communication protocols and standards (CAN BUS, A429, etc.)
• You have experience with Unix/Linux OS

Bonus skills:

• You have knowledge in general aircraft systems architecture types
• You have experience with Requirements Engineering
