Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

The Flight Test Aircraft Manager is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of test aircraft and meticulously planning and preparing on-aircraft work. Key responsibilities include managing the configuration status to maintain continuous airworthiness, developing a production plan that aligns with due dates, technical requirements, material availability, and staff capacity to minimize downtime and maximize test flight availability. The role also involves daily adjustments to the production plan and forecasting material needs for effective material planning. In the future, this position will also encompass planning for Part 145 aircraft maintenance.

  • You will perform the aircraft management in the MRO software (AMOS) by
    • Following up the config status
    • Creating work packages, work orders & task cards
    • Issuing material requests and purchase orders
    • Checking on capacities and qualifications 
  • You will monitor technical status of the aircrafts as single point of contact and resolve conflicting aircraft requirements (i.e. maintenance vs. test operations)
  • You will track and analyze all reported defects, snags, findings, modifications 
  • You will identify and remove blockers to aircraft schedule as early as possible in the planning process and escalate issues when needed  
  • You will report to Program Management, Flight Testing, Maintenance on aircraft status and blockers
  • You will control the actual production plan and adjust it on daily basis
  • You will provide forecast for material needs and material planning 
  • You will take action on constraints or unavailability of any necessary part 
  • You will ensure compliance and safety and participate in aircraft and operations safety reviews
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Aviation, Engineering, Industrial Business Management, or Project Management, OR Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence with multiple years of experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in aviation operations management or project management in a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex operations or projects.
  • Demonstrated project management and/or planning skills in a Part 21J, Part CAMO, or Part 145 organization (or similar from other aviation authorities).
