Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As the Head of the Avionics & Flight Controls department, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading our team of Engineering Managers across various sub-functions. Your responsibilities will include both disciplinary and technical oversight, ensuring that our product development strategy is robust and forward-thinking. You will be instrumental in guaranteeing that our business adheres to national and international regulations, delivering results that meet time, cost, and quality expectations. Additionally, you will foster efficient and transparent communication with other CTO areas as well as cross-functional teams to drive seamless collaboration.

Your tasks:

  • You will maintain deep end-to-end responsibility for the departments deliverables towards its customers.
  • You will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to direct reports through coaching and mentorship (including resourcing, performance management, recognition, and reward).
  • You will proactively identify hiring and training needs for the team to ensure availability of relevant resources and competencies.
  • You will ensure, maintain and improve high standards of development quality within the team by establishing good practices and following the design organization’s processes.
  • You will ensure communication flow and alignment towards and from the departments, stakeholders within and outside of the CTO organization.
  • You will collaborate with other CTO-departments and cross-functional areas to guarantee best company results.
  • You will establish conditions within the department to deliver the requested results in time, cost, and quality.
  • You are responsible to manage the departmental budget. 
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in departments main technical field.
  • PHD or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or comparable, for example: Master’s in economics, business, and engineering, or comparable study program. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally.
  • Experience with leading motivated and high performing teams, comfortable with change High level of flexibility and efficiency.
  • Provide clarity through holistic understanding of technology.
  • Create momentum by inspiring the people.
  • Ability to lead and train (team) leaders.
  • Substantial Management and leadership knowledge.
  • Find solutions through pragmatic mindset.
  • Very good English language skills (written & spoken).
  • Strategic mindset regarding future technology (roadmaps).
